SURFACE PRO 2 AND MANGA STUDIO5

So I recently decided to upgrade my digital drawing kit.
After the great pc disaster of 2010, my good friend Neil Howson (check out his double awesome paintings at http://www.howsonart.co.uk/) lent me a laptop as a temporary measure. Well, after 3 years I finally got a more permanent solution, the Surface Pro 2.
It has served me well for the 2 weeks or so I have had it, although I have only had a few chances to use it. It has been a bit glitchy turning on after a software update this week, but as it is still under warranty the situation will be monitored.
Having managed a couple of hours drawing on it in Manga Studio 5 (still to be fully explored but absolutely brilliant so far!) using a Wacom Bamboo Feel (it comes with a stylus/pen, which is fine, but I really wanted the superior pressure sensitivity), I am part-way through the Christmas freebie model for DARKMOOK PAPER MINIATURES and am rather pleased with the result. Working directly on the screen has let me work a little looser than usual for the miniatures, allowing more line variation, but I am still able to colour and shade as I would in Photoshop. And as it is a vector image, scaling shouldn't be a problem...

GAME LAUNCH THOUGHT BUBBLE 2013

After many months of design, re-design, print tests and packaging, the hard copies are now ready for Thought Bubble 2013.
Launching at the convention will be ZOMBIE FIGHTER, the game of post apocalyptic gladiatorial combat, where man versus man and zombie in a bid to survive the arena!

Also available for the first time will be the SURVIVAL HORROR TABLETOP GAME hard copy edition, a revamped and re-designed version of the popular print and play game!

THE ROAD TO THOUGHT BUBBLE 2013

So the game components arrived for the DARKMOOK PAPER MINIATURES launch at Thought Bubble 2013. It has been a loooong 3 days of packaging, cd burning, sticker applying and cutting and sticking, with another 4 days to go! It should be well worth it in the end. The SURVIVAL HORROR TABLETOP GAME set contains all the miniatures and bases and a full colour rulebook, as well as a cd with all the printed material and extra component files. The ZOMBIE FIGHTER set contains all the miniatures and bases,a full colour rulebook,playing tokens and high quality paper map board as well as a cd with all the printed material. They are priced at £12 and £10 respectively, or can be purchased as a pair for £20 (plus p&p!)
